Custom Framing Conservation/Archival Framing
Acid-free materials are used to protect the art work. All products that touch the artwork have a ph value equal to or above 7.0. We specialize in hinging techniques that protect your art work, Japanese rice paper and linen that has a reversible adhesive. Additionally, UV (ultraviolet) protecting glass is recommended to block the long-term effects of fading. The art package is sealed before it is placed in the frame. The back of the frame is sealed with an acid free barrier. The goal is to protect the artwork from environmental decay. We take the customer's old frame apart and test the materials. The work might need a cleaning, a new glass, a new mat, new backing, and/or new hinging. Whatever the piece requires, we will make it look like new and protect it from environmental hazards for years to come.
